Citric acid is a solid, colorless, water-soluble substance and is one of the most common acids in plant organisms. Lemon juice contains about 5-7% and orange about 1%, but it is also present in almost all fruit, woods, mushrooms, tobacco, wine and even milk.
Use: It can be used diluted in 15% demineralized water as an anti-limescale for cleaning bathrooms and as a rinse aid, or it can be used in the washing machine as an eco-sustainable softener and descaling agent (with a 10% dilution). Added pure to detergents, it reduces the hardness of the water making washing more effective while allowing to reduce the amount to be used with the same result.
