Vulgare means that the plant is quite widespread (vulgar = common), to distinguish it from other rarer related species.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is a perennial plant as well as spontaneous, with a branched stem, up to 2 m high. It has leaves reminiscent of hay (hence the name foeniculum), green in color and produces umbrellas of small yellow flowers in summer. Followed by fruits (achenes), first green and then grayish.<\/p>\n<p>Wild fennel is used shoots, leaves, flowers and fruits (improperly called &#8220;seeds&#8221;).
