ORIGINS: the name of thyme designates various plants of the species Thymus vulgaris L., which grow spontaneously in the Mediterranean basin and are well adapted also in temperate and boreal Asia.
DESCRIPTION: the leaves of this woody plant are rather small, with a greenish upper page; the smell and aroma are very intense and persistent, due to the high content of essential oil.
USES AND APPLICATIONS: mainly in medicine as balsamic, antispasmodic and antiseptic. In the kitchen, meats, fish and vegetables are flavored. It is also used in perfumery and the liquor industry.
STORAGE METHODS: The product should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from sources of light and heat.
MINIMUM SHELF LIFE: 24/36 months in compliance with the storage methods.
