BOTANICAL SPECIES: Rosmarinus officinalis L.
BACKGROUNDS: there are numerous qualities of this plant that grows spontaneously in the countries of the entire Mediterranean basin, up to the Crimea. As far as its production is concerned, Spain is in the main position, followed by southern France, Italy, Dalmatia and the coastal strip of Africa.
DESCRIPTION: it is an evergreen shrub with copious and narrow branches, densely covered with leaves. These are linear, rigid, up to 3 cm long and 2 to 4 mm wide; have a dark green color on the upper face and lighter on the lower one. The small flowers are much sought after by bees and the whole plant exhales an intense aroma due to the essential oil.
USES AND APPLICATIONS: essential oil is obtained from the leaves in large quantities. In the kitchen they are abundantly used as an aromatic condiment; in the pharmaceutical field they are used for infusions, tinctures and ointments and in the medical field for their stimulating properties.
MINIMUM SHELF LIFE: 24/36 months in compliance with the storage methods.
