on 13 August 2017 the new law that transposes the EU Directive 2015/70 came into force and applies to all bags with or without handles establishing that the only tradable exchanges are:Biodegradable and compostable bags used as primary packaging for bulk food (fruit and vegetables, bakery, gastronomy, butcher, fishmonger, etc.). compliant with the UNI EN 13432: 2002 standard containing at least 40% of material from renewable sources (50% from 01/01/2020 and 60% from 01/01/2021) that can be reused for domestic wet after removing the adhesive label with the price.Biodegradable and compostable bags used as secondary packaging for takeaway and compliant with UNI EN 13432:2002 Reusable bags made of traditional plastic with an external handle of more than 100 microns thick (with 10% recycled plastic) that can be used by businesses that only sell products other than foodReusable bags in traditional  plastic with external handle with thicknesses greater than 200 microns (with 30% recycled plastic)   that can be used by businesses that also sell food products.Reusable bags made of traditional plastic with an internal handle of more than 100 microns thick (with 10% recycled plastic) that can be used by businesses that sell only products other than foodReusable bags in traditional  plastic with external handle with thicknesses greater than 60 microns (with 30% recycled plastic)   that can be used by businesses that also sell food products.Each bag can NOT be sold free of charge and the sale price for each bag must be shown on the receipt or sales invoice. Paper bags are not subject to the obligation of the receipt.

Bags with a square bottom

are made of a perfectly transparent film. They are produced in Italy and have the suitability for direct contact with food. They can be customized for a minimum quantity of 50,000 pieces. They can only be used if purchased with products already previously included in the laboratory and not packaged at the moment.
